I leave you alone for just a minute...

We got home from daycare and I put my wallet and phone inside the house. I grabbed the broom to start sweeping the leaves out of the garage. Before I know it, this happened...
He found one of Josh's hats in my car, put it on (backwards at that), and hopped in the front seat of my car and proceeded to "drive" it.  Nice.

First Theatre Movie

Mom, Josh and I took Andrew to his first movie, Rio 2!  We ate popcorn and enjoyed the show.  He did pretty good, except for when he fell off the chair and hit his chin.  He cut the inside of his mouth and has a red mark just under his lip.  After a few moments outside, he calmed down and came back inside for the rest of the show.

HAPPY EASTER!

The Easter Bunny was here!

The Easter Bunny was very generous this year!  Perhaps she felt sad for Andrew since his Birthday and Christmas are so close together and he never gets anything new throughout the rest of the year! All together, Andrew received a dinosaur sticker book, Elmo book, Monsters Inc. toothbrush with training toothpaste, alphabet/numbers magnets, a swimming vest, and Thomas track extensions.

Easter Cookies

Mom and I were inspired by our recent cookie class and decided to practice some more!  Friday, we made 4 1/2 dozen sugar cookies. Then Saturday, we decorated them all with only a few casualties.

It's a Zoo Day!

On Good Friday daycare was closed. Andrew and I met my friend Mindy and her two kids, Cash and Palin, and we ventured to the Zoo!

It was a beautiful day for the zoo!  We saw lots and lots of animals, fed the Giraffes, fed and pet the goats, saw more animals, had some lunch, and finally rode the carousel. It was Andrew's first time on the carousel and he LOVED it!  So much so that he screamed getting off saying he wanted to do it again!  I had to explain that he had to let other kids have their turn then distracted him with animal crackers... the crackers cured all!

This momma and her baby were sitting right in the window. The baby was two weeks old... he was sooooo stinkin cute!

EGGcellent

This was our first time dyeing eggs with Andrew. He just wanted to keep moving the eggs from one color to the next; and our kit only came with three random colors. We got a little unlucky because all three were "hot" colors: red, orange and yellow. So they all turned out about the same color.  Oh well, still fun!

Wine, Whine & Cookies

Mom and I had a fantastic girls night out. We went to a wine and cookie party, hosted by Ginny Levack. She is expanding her business to include this kind of party and she needed some participants so she can get some photographs for advertising.

We learned some cool tips and techniques for decorating cookies. We'll be testing our skills later this week when we make some more Easter cookies!!

Potty Progress

Andrew has been progressing well with the potty. He has been going consistently in the evenings at home and he will got a few times each day on the weekends, but they have not been able to get him to go at daycare.

At first, I think his teachers were waiting until he was asking to go potty, but I told them he just needs to be asked. One of the downsides of this large daycare is the student teacher ration, 9:1, they don't really have time to sit with each kid on the potty because they have 8 other crazy kids running around.  Well, I tried a new tactic this week... I put Andrew in pull-ups and asked for a daily progress report. It turns out they started sitting him on the potty.  The past couple days when I picked him up, I asked if he went and they would say, "No, but he wasn't upset when sitting on the potty". I am like DUHHH... he isn't upset at home, he isn't afraid of the potty, and he has been going for the past couple months.

However, when I went to pick him up today I grabbed his daily paper and read he went pee pee on the potty!!!!!  Then I read it out load and everybody in the class, kids and teachers alike, cheered "Yay Andrew"!  He was so excited. We celebrated a few times this evening to hopefully reinforce the progress.

House Update

We had a night of thunderstorms across north Texas that produced a lot of hail, pea to softball size.  We had up to a quarter size in Frisco, but in Little Elm they reported at least baseball size.  Josh wanted to check on the house Friday afternoon. Since I was hanging out with Mom that day, I was unable to go.

Josh reported that the brick was up, there was texture on the walls, and the cabinets for kitchen and bathrooms were installed (although not stained yet). We did have a broken window in the Dining Room, but it was likely from the bricklayers, not hail.

Mom and Dad went out to the house on Saturday since they were in the neighborhood and had not seen it since the foundation was poured. They said the trim was being installed and doors were being hung that day. They also said the builder was up on the roofs checking for hail damage.
