SNAKE IN THE HOUSE

I found this little sucker in the entry of the house by the coat closet.  These are 12 in tiles, so he is not that big, but he was WAYYYYY too big for my liking.  I found a heavy shoe to smash him a couple times. He didn't move, so he might have already been dead.  Then I was trying to find a way to scoop him up before I had to go pick up the boys. I was using the broom and a fly swatter... I am sure if you were a witness, it was hysterical. I was FREAKING out like it was an Anaconda fixin to eat me alive! I normally don't scream when I get scared or when something is gross, but I was screaming with every little broom sweep. I haven't had any nightmares, but I keep checking the ground and doors for snakes.

Don't ask me what kind of snake this is... honestly, I don't want to know. One more thing to fret about.

Garth Brooks Concert

My friend, Mindy, called me in July asking if I wanted to go to Garth Brooks concert.  Ummmm, Hell Yes!  He was going to be in town for 7 shows in 5 days. So, we went!!  Josh was very jealous. He was actually the person who introduced me to country music when we were in college. Many of the first songs I learned were from Garth.  I was feeling so awful for having the time of my life knowing while Josh was at home watching the boys. I know Josh doesn't like concerts, but he would have loved this one.  So, I lined up a baby sitter and surprised him with tickets to the last show.  I have listed pictures from both nights.

Labor Day weekend in Houston

Labor Day weekend we traveled to Houston to visit with family. We were down a couple weeks prior for Shelby's funeral, but we didn't get to visit much with everybody. On our way down, we stopped by Butch and Emily;s house in Huntsville. This is the couple I worked for in college, I am best friends with their daughter, Jessie. Saturday evening we ate at Willies Ice House - I have been wanting to go there so bad because they don't have them in DFW. Sunday, we went to church with Connie in Pasadena, then to downtown Houston for Andrew's first baseball game at Minute Maid Park (Astros v Twins).  Net watched Caleb while Josh, Terry, Andrew and I went to the game. Back to Grandpa Terry's for Potato Soup for dinner.  Sunday morning we got up and gathered our things and were on the road by 11 in hopes of missing most of the traffic... mostly worked.
