We dropped of Andrew at Mom & Dad's house. We picked up the Expedition, went to the bank to get our closing check, went to the apartment to get first load into the truck, met Realtor for closing at 3:00pm. We signed our life away which earned us a set of keys! However, the title company had not released funds to the builder, so they said we could not go into the house until they called us. We grabbed a drink at Starbucks and waited and waited. Finally about 6:00pm they called and said we could go in the house. We unloaded our first trip and Mom met us with Andrew. We went back to the apartment to finish packing.

Josh had to work that day, but it was okay because the movers weren't scheduled to be there until 6:30pm. Once Mom finished working that day she came over to help. We loaded up the Edge and Expedition and took a load over to the new house. I unpacked a few things and headed back to the apartment, while Mom took Andrew for the evening. Josh got off work and we waited for the movers, and waited and waited. They were running "two hours late". Two hours turned into four hours. In the meantime, we loaded up the Expedition and Camry with more things. We both drove over and unloaded. Josh went back to the apartment to wait on the movers while I stayed at the house. We had moved all the furniture and boxes into the garage for easy loading. It took the movers
2 1/2 hours to load up truck, it should only have taken an hour. Even after this 2
1/2 hours, and the trips we had already taken with our stuff... they could not fit everything in the truck. We had to
borrow a truck the next day to get grill, lawn mower, vacuums and other
stuff. (We found out during unloading - the first quarter of the truck was boxes and they only stacked three high so there was a ton of room in there and our stuff should have fit). Anyways, so they finally get to the new house around 12:45 in the morning! We're ready to unload, right? Wrong!
They decided to take a 15 min nap in the driveway! Josh finally knocked on
the door and asked if we could unpack our selves. Oh no, that is a liability. We got unloaded in an hour, but Josh and I were moving stuff into the house too. While unloading, we realized not one piece of furniture survived the trip without some sort of
scratch on it. Three big items were ruined: both headboards for master
and guest beds, and my office chair was scratched and missing a roller which is
nowhere to be found. Although we were dissatisfied we paid for services, but said we would be following up
to file a claim about the damaged property.
After an hour of putting a few necessity things together/away, Josh and I finally crawled into bed around 3:00am. All the while, my throat had been progressively getting sore. :(

Josh had to work and I needed to pick up Andrew from Mom's house by 9:00am. Josh left for work, but did not leave me keys to pick up Andrew... he had to come back and as a result he was late! I still was not feeling well, but needed to get Andrew because mom had some important deadlines that day. We stopped by Kroger to pick up some groceries. Then unpacked as much as I could with Andrew being around. For every five steps forward, there was one step back. It was a challenge. When Andrew laid down for a nap I took one as well. We had little sleep and I still wasn't feeling good. I got about 45 min then had to stay awake because AT&T guy was supposed to be stopping by between 1-3. Mom came up later that afternoon to help occupy Andrew while I unpacked some more. We got Uverse and Internet installed and made some dinner. When Josh got off work he met the Hagens to borrow their truck. I met Josh at the apartment to load the last of the stuff while mom stayed with Andrew. Josh also attempted to call movers regarding our concerns, they avoided his calls and that kept on for about a
week. By the end of the day we had Andrew's room put together and 90% of the kitchen completed.
Fast forward a week... Tuesday, June 3, 2014
Josh had finally spoke with office assistant to get his side of the story taken. As a result, she said the
movers said we made them pack and squish everything in the truck and that is why our stuff was damaged.
This was laughable seeming as how the first quarter of the truck was empty and they didn't get everything on the truck! We had not bought anything over the past year (except a treadmill) and all of our stuff fit on the same size truck a little over a year ago. And then we didn't move a close distance where we could make trips with our vehicles like we did this time. Anyways, Josh received a voicemail from manager at Military Movers. She never spoke with Josh and basically said the movers said you made them pack everything into the truck so we are not responsible for damages. We were both shocked that she left a voicemail, did not even speak with us, and didn't even say I'm sorry.... those would have been easy things to do if you weren't going to pay for any damages. So we will be pursuing other options to get at least our money back.
Oh and Jill had Strep! Nice, right? We're happy to have a new house though!!!!
