Andrew has been coughing the last few days. He started getting a low fever yesterday. Then, this morning he was red on the face down to his neckline with a few spots on his arm which were all warm to the touch. Josh wasn't convinced to take him to the Dr. but Andrew was very whiny this morning. He just wanted to snuggle and you could tell he was hurting. We have a trip planned for this weekend, so I wanted to figure out what was wrong and get him fixed asap.  Our regular pediatrician was on vacation this week, so we saw Dr. Linda Robinson.  She wanted to test him for strep since a symptom of that can be sensitive skin (probably responding to sunscreen he had on from yesterday at daycare). She also listened to his lungs and heard a little wheezing. She had us do a breathing treatment (8 minutes in a mask) in the office while we wait on the strep test results. He did pretty good for first time on Nebulizer, last two minutes were a struggle.

She came back said he was positive for strep and listened to his lungs again. Luckily, his lungs were better - so the treatment worked.  She prescribed an antibiotic for Strep and breathing treatments (three times a day) until the cough goes away. Unfortunately, they didn't have any machines to rent there, so we had to purchase one at the pharmacy. Who knows maybe it will be a good investment. He does have these cough spells every time he gets a cold.

We picked the panda bear Nebulizer at the the pharmacy, Andrew named him Buzz.  Pictured below was his second treatment, first time at home. He did REALLY well this time; he held the mask the whole time (He doesn't like the straps around his head)!

Andrew can't go to daycare tomorrow either, so he and I will be spending lots of quality time together!!!
